A Future with Hope
Joshua 1:9
Life has a way of making us feel like we’re stuck between what was and what’s next—caught in the middle of waiting, hoping, and wondering if God is still working behind the scenes. And if we’re honest, sometimes the waiting stretches so long that we start to question if we heard Him right in the first place.
But then, God speaks.
"This is what the Lord says: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
—Jeremiah 29:10-12
Now, before we rush to the “plans to prosper you” part (because that sounds really good), let’s sit with the whole passage for a moment.
God was speaking to a people who were in exile. They weren’t where they wanted to be. Their lives weren’t unfolding the way they expected. Sound familiar? Maybe you thought you’d be further by now—more settled, more accomplished, more at peace. Maybe life’s detours have left you feeling displaced, like you’re living a life that doesn’t quite fit the vision you once had.
Yet God, in all His wisdom and mercy, doesn’t rush them out of their season. Instead, He tells them: "I will come to you and fulfill my good promise." In other words, wait on Me. Trust My timing. I have not forgotten you.
The Waiting Isn’t Wasted
Sisters, what if this season isn’t punishment, but preparation? What if God is refining, restoring, and readying you for something greater than you even imagined?
We cling to Jeremiah 29:11 because it reminds us that His plans are good. But verse 12 is just as powerful:
"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
God isn’t just planning a future for you—He’s inviting you into intimacy with Him right now. The waiting isn’t just about what’s ahead. It’s about drawing near to the One who holds your future in His hands.
So, if you’re in a season of uncertainty, if you’re questioning the path or wondering if God still sees you, let me remind you:
🌿 He hears you.
🌿 He has not forgotten you.
🌿 Your story isn’t over yet.
Whatever exile you feel you’re in—whether it’s loneliness, grief, career struggles, or spiritual drought—know this: God’s promises do not expire. He is still writing your story, and it’s leading to a future filled with hope.
So take heart. Pray. Trust. And keep believing.
Because the God who made the promise is faithful to fulfill it.
With love and hope,
Carol 💕
